Bank Credit Policy and Procedures Manual

This standard Credit Policy and Procedures Manual has been prepared for all Managers in a Bank who are involved in retail, commercial and corporate Banking with customers. The bank’s Credit Policy and Procedures are a prerequisite for the bank to lend money to customers but also to recover those loans that become a bad debt. The objective of this manual is to cover all credit and lending related issues that are likely to affect the conduct of the bank’s business. It must be the objective of a bank to have uniformity in the credit policy and procedures adopted throughout the bank that will lead to consistency and ultimately, to greater accountability and control over a bank’s loan portfolio.
