§ Annibale, with his brother and cousin opened a painting studio called, Academy of the Desiderosi (desirous of fame and learning.)
§ Carracci was referred by the Duke of Parma, Ranuccio I Farnese, to his brother, the Cardinal Odoardo Farnese to paint the Roman Palazzo Farnese. The Farnese ceiling was considered the unrivaled masterpiece of the 17th and 18th centuries.
§ Carracci is credited with inventing the form of caricatures.
§ In 1609, Carracci was buried near Raphael in the Pantheon of Rome.
